Data Quality Analyst (Perm or Freelance)

Roles & Responsibilities

The Data Quality team is part of the management team of the Data Governance Centre of Expertise, which reports to the CDO.
The candidate will work on data cleansing & profiling activities in a broad sense. This includes designing & implementing new processes, remediation plans with main stakeholders on different topics related to Data quality management on one or more data perimeters.
Three years ago, our client has created his own Data department, under the responsibility of the Chief Data Officer, member of the Executive Committee, with the objective to modernize its data repositories, data governance, data management and data usage. Its ambition is to:


  • Safeguard and cultivate the bank’s revenue streams.
  • Gain efficiency through the rationalisation of data management practices and usages, and improved data quality.
  • Comply with the regulatory environment and requirements
  • Create an adaptable platform.


The role of the Data Quality Analyst will primarily cover the following topics:

  • Performs cleansing of data quality issues through the analysis and solving of potential dysfunctions and/or non-optimized usage of data:
    • Identification of Data Quality issues (proactive and reactive)
    • Prioritization of issues
    • Problem definition
    • Analysis of root causes
    • Proposition of solutions
    • Implementation of chosen solution (via IT development or via update of process)
    • Application of change management actions for impacted teams
  • Monitors the data quality based on data quality dashboards, supports redesign & upgrade.
  • Contributes to designing, monitoring and reporting on common reference tools (e.g. data definitions, dictionaries and glossaries), consolidating and harmonizing them.
  • Contributes, via the Data Community, to raising awareness of the importance of data quality.


  • You have at least a Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline, such as statistics, mathematics or engineering
  • Knowledge of bank's databases
  • Experience in data governance tools (Collibra/Ab Initio)
  • Development and/or use of dashboards (eg Tableau)
  • Knowledge of the digital culture and capacity to navigate into the digital ecosystem
  • Basics of data exploration & profiling
  • SQL, SAS, Python is a plus
  • Perform data analysis demonstrating business impacts
  • Banking (in a specific data domain is a plus)
  • Business Object experience
  • Office tools (Excel, MS Access, Powerpoint)
